Vascular
|
Vascular is an adjective for the word vessel and refers to tube-like structures.
- In Zoology, more specifically anatomy and physiology, "vascular" means "related to blood vessels". An organ or tissue that is vascularized is heavily endowed with blood vessels and thus richly supplied with blood.
- In Botany, vascular plants are plants with a dedicated fluid or water transport system of tracheids. Non-vascular plants include mosses and algae, while vascular plants include ferns, conifers and flowering plants.
