A belated Howdy! Welcome to Wikipedia. Nice work on Taíno. Cheers! mav

Hi, welcome to the Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy your stay here. The NPOV is our most important policy; your current edits indicate you are already following it! It might be a good idea to give the policy a read anyway. Cheers! --Clutch 05:55 Nov 25, 2002 (UTC)

I noticed your edits to Manning, Iowa: nice additions, this is the sort of thing that needs to be done for all the thousands of US city articles. The 2000 census info has been added for almost every city in the US by the Rambot -- the idea is to have the basic data from the census bureau then start adding to it. The Rambot is currently adding geographic location info to each article, so the articles are more than just copies of the census info. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities for more info -- you might find it useful. -- Sam

I agree that there is confusion about micronations and Fifth World nations. It doesn't help that there are unregistered participants with conflicting points of view. I've restored the text on the latter to give those interested an opportunity to develop whatever they're trying to develop and left a simple link to the subject at Micronation. Once the 5WN article is sorted out perhaps there can be more meaningful links. Eclecticology 01:44 Dec 29, 2002 (UTC)

Don't you ever use the "Show preview" option? It's a bit distracting to see you edit an article in rapid succession. Anyway, it's nice that you're filling up many articles about the Military History of the Philippines. --seav

There needs to be a way to filter certain users out of your recent changes list. Show preview doesn't work for me-I click it and scroll down and the page always looks fine. But if I click submit, as soon as the new screen pops up, I always see something I want to change. Vera Cruz

Yes, good idea. (A table for Far East Air Force.) It might be best to include two or three sets of figures, to show the pitiful starting strength, the massive flow of new aircraft in 1941 ("massive" given the huge production problems the US had at the time, I mean), and finally the still more massive scale of the losses in late '41/early '42. In fact, I was going to write a para or two about that just now, but when I went to find the excellent and quite recent comprehensive history of the USAAF I have here somewhere to check my facts, I gave up looking after ten minutes. Too many books and not enough shelves! No matter, it will turn up. Tannin

Thank you for your meticulous editing of the article on New Imperialism! 172

Thank you for your vigilance against purging. Two16

I have no problem with you writing articles on those subjects, though I don't accept your apology for advocating illegal drug use on your userpage, for reasons that are perhaps obvious. Tokerboy

Good luck on the getting the ban removed. Hope to see you in recent changes soon. Keep on toking (or whatever your bag is, perhaps a certain fungus)...Tokerboy

I, personally, have no objections to your return and adding stuff to those articles (but don't ask permission from me). I just hope your edits etc are sensible and honest. I'd advise you take things slowly -- take a bit more time checking over what you do, and do use the summary box so that people can see what you're trying to do. -- Sam 11:02 Feb 1, 2003 (UTC)

Yes, you are right. I originally put the STS-107 crew roles up correctly but with all the edits, others messed up some of the roles (including Ramon's)as they cut&pasted and even confused me. Thanks for fixing it. B

I'm puzzled: from what I've read on the Wikipedia-l list, you have been banned from Wikipedia, for your actions. Yet you are back, volunteering your time & research. Why? -- llywrch 00:18 Feb 2, 2003 (UTC)

Because the admins have not caught up with her latest tricks yet. They will. Tannin

Oh... I was hoping that Vera Cruz had been unbanned in order to write articles on Salim I al Sabah, Kabbar, Abdul Aziz ibn Abdul Rahman ibn Saud, Najd, Faisal I, Political Titles of the Ottoman Empire, Warba, Abdulla II al Sabah, the First Kuwaiti Crisis, Abdullah ibn Hussein, Mashian, Failakah, Auhah, al Khalifa, al Jalahima, al Sabah, Abdul Karim Qasim, Jaber III al Ahmad al Sabah, Muhammad I al Sabah, the Second Kuwaiti Crisis, Zaki Arsuzi, Salah al Din Bitar, Ghazi ibn Faisal, Bakr Sidqi, Abdullah II al Sabah, Ahmad al Sabah, Abdul Ilah, and Percy Cox, as well as (obviously) the Anglo-Iraqi Treaty of October 1922, the Turkish Petroleum Company, the Basra-Baghdad Highway, the Berlin-Baghdad Railroad, and the Abudllah Khor Waterway, Nuri al Said, Abdulla III al Sabah, Aramco, the Kuwait Oil Company, and the Anglo-Kuwaiti Treaty of 1899. I'd rather like to see them! :) -- Oliver P. 00:32 Feb 2, 2003 (UTC)

The aspect of banning people disturbs me somewhat, especially people with a valid history of contribution. Stevert

Vera, I support you, and I don't support the Cabal who is attempting to ban you. I urge you to keep up the good work, and I deplore those who talk about you behind your back in the meta pages, WikiEN-l, or wherever else they go to keep their plotting hidden in shadows.

right on!

Although I haven't been particularly bothered by you, there's no doubt that you have been flying up a lot of noses. One frequent comment that I see is that you mark most of your edits minor. In the interests of peace could you please at least check your user preferences to make sure that the box "Mark all edits minor" is not checked? I really would like to see a lot of the complaining stopped. Eclecticology 08:24 Feb 3, 2003 (UTC)

Yeh! I can see the dilemma. Nevertheless, it seems that not marking them minor would be the lesser evil. Given the prevailing attitudes your detractors will go overs ALL your entries with a fine toothed comb anyway. The little "M"'s just seem to irritate them more. I suppose that the incremental edits irritate people too; this probably could be helped by doing several of these together off-line. I know that you will then get complaints that the changes are too complicated, but nobody's claiming that you are in a winning environment. Eclecticology 19:34 Feb 4, 2003 (UTC)

Summaries would be nice, too. Then every time you add a couple links, and your summary says "added a couple links", then it'll be a little demonstration of trustworthiness. Plus it makes it easier when looking through the older versions page. I'm a big fan of summaries, me... :) Martin

I was rather disappointed with your articles on Emir and Shaikh in which you only talked about the titles in the context of Kuwait-- that's rather like writing an entry for King talking only about rulers of Denmark. Quite misleading. Please take a moment to look up the term or google it if you think a subject is worth writing an article about. You can do better. Cheers, -- Infrogmation

I was banned before I could finish the articles on emir and shaikh. Now you will have to do it all by yourself. Vera Cruz

I saw Vera Cruz at an anti-stoner rally today, the lad's a narc! hooha. always good to know there's some people still campaigning to keep our stellar drug laws in-line so we can keep our children safe from potheads. - MarcusAurelius

Why exactly was this user banned? roan

Hey ladies and gentlemen and script kiddies. Unban this user; he's been an invaluable asset to wiki, and every confrontation over content stems only from his desire to see the best free encyclopedia possible. I mean just cause he's a tool Pat Buchanan supporter doesn't mean .... errr. Seriously folks, losing good contributers is unacceptable when they haven't taken anything away from wiki, and this poor lad has only been a positive influence. Also, if you disagreed with him in some edit war, odds are you were probably wrong, so swallow your pride. Marcus Aurelius, Commander of the Northern Legions

Roan, as far as I can tell, when this user first started, they would get into edit wars, they were disrespectful to members, and they did not always follow the rules. I've always observed this user as constructive, so I must have met them during their more mature phase. They claim (and I believe) that they will be a better contributor from here on in.

Forgot to log in before I did the most recent revert from MarcusAurelius's purge. If you would like to comment on the revert, MarcusAurelius, I am the one you should speak to. Seems you reposted while I was posting this, so I moved your comments down here. cprompt

it takes two to get into edit wars! 172.140.64.249 04:47 Feb 12, 2003 (UTC)

Eh I just purged it because it was all rather moot since he got the boot. Word life user IP, takes two for war, but with a lot of wars, one side is right and one is wrong, what can you say. Marcus Aurelius

There is some discussion on the mailing list about whether he will be returning. Please, leave things posted even if they seem irrelevant or over with. After all, there are no longer any Confederate States of America and Charles IV has been long dead.

(To Martin) Re: micronation, Why is that more correct than which? Vera Cruz

Charles E. Silberman is an orphan. can you find some articles to point to it? Kingturtle 23:57 May 13, 2003 (UTC)

I'm not sure you'll get a response from Vera Cruz here, but never fear! I've created List of political authors especially for the purpose of linking to Mr. Silberman. :) -- Oliver P. 00:48 May 14, 2003 (UTC)

This user was being auto redirected to User Ler, and it stated that the wikipedia was ghey.

It may have some bad users, but overall, it's a nice place.

I edited the users info page back to a "user has been renamed" thing, and now that I know s/he's been banned, well, what's the point eh. -- User:The_Inedible_Bulk (timestamps are hard)
