Hi Quackor!

Welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are Faroese, and wondered if perhaps you'd like to be the one to start fo: (the Faeroese language version of Wikipedia). We already have a small Icelandic version started by a couple of Icelandic members... Here is a link to the Faeroese mainpage, and here is a guide to help you get started on it. :) Node 21:56, 22 May 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the thought, and i have started the Faroese language version of Wikipedia now. I have made a Main Page, and started on the Community Portal. But i would like to translate the interface into faroese also, and by my understanding that means to translate LanguageFo.php, i have started on that but i dont know how to commit it. Faroes vs Faeroes

Hi there. I see you made a couple of small changes to the articles on Faroese football teams (I only created the pages because they were playing in the UEFA Cup/Champions League this year -- sadly they didn't get any further than my own Welsh teams! :( ). Anyway, I notice that in English both "Faroes" and "Faeroes" seems to be valid spellings, with Google favouring "Faroes" by about 2:1, though the other spelling was preferred many years ago when I learnt it! I'm changing the category links to "Faroese football clubs" because the standard we've been using is "<country adjective> football clubs" rather than "<country name> football clubs" -- so it's "Danish football clubs" rather than "Denmark football clubs", "Sammarinese football clubs", not "San Marino football clubs", and so on... :) -- Arwel 12:22, 16 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I think Faeroes has come from the danish spelling of faroe islands, which is Færøerne, and then the æ became ae. Im not much of an football fan so i wont be doing much editing there ;-). Quackor 13:52, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Logo

fo:Image:Fo-wiki-logo.png should be copied to fo:Image:Wiki.png before it can work properly. When it has moved there, please protect the image page to prevent vandalism, and then a developer can enable the logo. Angela. 15:23, Sep 20, 2004 (UTC)

It has been done. Quackor 18:51, 20 Sep 2004 (UTC)

meta:WIKIng

Hi Quackor, I just come to say Halló from meta:WIKIng. It was tricky to edit [1] (http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Quackor&action=edit). There is an old redirect. I wondered, how you can edit it ;-) Regards Gangleri 05:39, 2004 Oct 9 (UTC)

Halló back :-), i dont know what you are trying to say about my redirect. B. Regards Quackor 13:45, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
That time it was the first (time) that I saw a REDIRECT from a User / User Talk page to another Wikipedia and not a link (as usual). It was tricky to look how it is made and to think about how to change it (if required).
I joined fo: now as fo:Brúkari:Gangleri. Regards Gangleri 23:40, 2004 Nov 5 (UTC)
