I'm a British grad student, curently procrastinginating from writing his PhD thesis, in the area of theoretical chemistry / applied quantum mechanics.
I have a BSc in chemistry / physics (joint honours), and an MSc in Mettalic and ceramic materials. The PhD is on the magnetic structure of thin layers of magnetic ceramics.
When not doing stuff on a computer, I'm a fan of pen and paper RPG's, and an amatuer gemologist / lapidary.
I also can't edit my own stuff worth a damn. Well, not for about few days, anyway. Feel free to apply some spelling or grammer if you get to them before I do. You've got a 95% chance of being better than me at it anyway :)
Articles I've done stuff to:
- Opal (Added info on doublet / triplet cuts)
- Facet cutting (Initial text) (top)
- Lapidary (Added info on various tools and techniques.)
- Tumble polishing (Inital write up. Needs more links in it.)
- Cabochon (more detail on prodedure)
- Ceramic Most of it, in a re-write.
For some reason, I've added large chunks to pottery. Mostly 'cos I wanted to keep the industrial ceramics seperate from clay work.
