"'Not that what goeth into the mouth defileth a man, but that which comes out of the mouth defileth a man.' That's a good one, Clyde Frog, interesting."

Manual of style

This is all unofficial, and is only here in case I forget what my opinions are...

Article titles

  • "The" at start of article titles should be avoided unless absolutely necessary - allowable cases include bands (but not most other organisations), works of art or media (books, magazines, newspapers, films, plays, songs, albums, etc.), brand names,
  • Brand names which are often spelled in caps as a stylistic choice (e.g. BBC TWO, THE TOUR) should be written in standard title case.

Article structure

  • There should always be an opening paragraph before the first heading (exceptions include some non-prose articles such as timelines and lists).
  • The article title ought to be in bold in the first sentence, but not if that would require awkward phrasing - the readability of the opening is what is important.

Tagging

  • There should be at most three tags on a page - one cleanup, one vfd and one stub. Occupational stub categories should take preference over geographic (e.g. prefer footy-stub over spain-stub).

Redirects

  • ...are considered non-harmful, and only need be deleted if there is an actual good reason.
