Roger D. Smith is a Vice President and Group CTO at Titan Corporation (http://www.titan.com/) working on next-generation simulation applications and distributed computing technologies. He also runs the consulting company Modelbenders LLC (http://www.modelbenders.com/). His most current simulation has been creating techniques to model terrorist groups, infrastructure protection, and the design of standardized modeling techniques. He is the creator and instructor for a series of simulation courses that have educated hundreds of simulation professionals. He serves on advisory boards for Sandia National Laboratories, University of Florida, and University of Central Florida, and on the editorial boards of the ACM Transactions on Modeling and Computer Simulation (http://www.acm.org/tomacs/) and the IRI Research Technology Management (http://www.iriinc.org/). He holds degrees in mathematics, statistics, computer science, business administration, and management.
He is also the principle force behind the CTO Network (http://www.ctonet.org/). The CTOnet is a source of information sharing regarding the position of the Chief Technology Officer.
