QIM Tunes is a 250 page book that is an interview between Tom Smith and five severe and non verbal adult autistic males using a new communication technique called Facilitated Communication (FC). From that experience, he originated the theory that autism is not symptomatic of retardation, but of genius off the chart.
While his particular theory of autism derives from the now banned communication method of Facilitated Communication, it is shared by many others who have used the method, and for years was supported by those using the term "Special" for categorizing autistic people.
