Peter Welsch
I'm a DJ and information science Master's student living in Bloomington, Indiana. I'm married to another aspiriring information scientist named Sarah. We own a cat, four turtles, and a lot of books, movies, and records.
I used to post here under the name Dr.scientist. I've since decided to take the advice Eric Raymond and move away from handles as much as possible.
I have a BA in History from St. Mary's College of Maryland. While in school I co-founded a DJ collective called Otaku Soundsystem and worked extensively in the theater department. After graduation I worked for three years on the tech support staff of small Baltimore ISP. There I learned a bit about Unix and became interested in the Open source movement and Intellectual property issues. Until recently I worked in the Information Sevices Department (reference) at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore. I'm now attending Indiana University's School of Library & Information Science. Lately I've been working as a lab counselor, cataloge prole, and XSLT tyro.
