The easy way to leave me a message, is to click and write and save! (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Dbroadwell&action=edit)

First Real edit: A friend pointed me to Wikipedia and on 03:49, 23 Dec 2003, I noticed someone linking to [[GDFL]] instead of GFDL. Fixed the link and redirected (with help) the errant [[GDFL]] to GFDL. Eventually I came back to it and cleaned up the mess the extra redirect caused, my first RfD.

500'th edit: Happened on 5 Mar 2005 Talk:Distributed computing getting ready to apply an outline to the imported articles.

The docs I keep revisiting;

Memorable edits:

Recent task; Building Infinity tricks

Last Task; Stoicism ... is not passive.

Current task; Playing in the chem files as I review ...

Testimonial; I ignored documents for a year,
             and they got better.

Future Import; Science Commons, while finishing AA.ENGR and looking forward to my joint (BSCS/BSEE) ... for example see Solar ponderings below.

Solar Ponderings

While wondering about the amount of power passing a single square meter in interplanetary areas of out solar system the following calculations took shape with the help of User:Raul654 and #wikipedia.

This assumes even distribution of solar EM radiation spherically.

Earth;
A 1m^2 collector of 100% efficiency could gather 1361 Watts
A 1m^2 collector of 3% efficiency could gather ~40.8 Watts

Earth r = 149600000000m = 1 AU
Earth B = 4 pi r^2 = (2.812 × 10^23) /m^2
EMr@Earth = E/B = 1361. Joules per second /m^2
Mercury;
A 1m^2 collector of 100% efficiency would gather 9081 Watts
A 1m^2 collector of 3% efficiency would gather ~294 Watts

Mercury r = 57910000000m = 0.3871 AU
Mercury B = 4 pi r^2 = (4.214 × 10^22) /m^2
EMr@mercury = E/B = 9081. Joules per second /m^2

Notes; Google Calculator (http://www.google.com/help/features.html#calculator), Unit Dictionary (http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/) and Solar System Data (http://www.nineplanets.org/data.html) abused for calculation.

Nifty solar paper with E in it [2] (http://cosmos.phy.tufts.edu/~zirbel/ast21/handouts/Energy-of-Sun-better.PDF).
