Alf Blume is a teacher by education, but is presently retired because of arthritis and the after-effects of multiple bonefractures sustained during hanggliding. Alf Blume has been photographing and writing about aviation since 1968[[1] (http://groups.msn.com/Alfsflybilleder/shoebox.msnw)]. He is very active in local politics and a member af the local nature conservationist society Danmarks Naturfredningsforening www.dn.dk and an active photographer of nature and wildlife as well [[2] (http://groups.msn.com/erfaringsgruppe-habitatsdirektiv)].
He is the father of 4 children, the oldest from 1971 being an autist and he is currently living in an institution after living at home till he was 18 years old. The two youngest children are living at home attending high-school and public school, his wife Susanne Newton is an occupational therapist. Susanne, with whom he has been living together with since 1982, brought her daughter Christine (also born 1971) into their marriage and Alf and Susanne now have two grandchildren by Christine.
