Urd

In Norse Mythology Urd (ON: Urðr) is one of the three Norns (old crones). Her name means that which has become, and is related to the English word weird. She was also called the Disa of Death.

Oh My Goddess

A variation on the mythological Urd is a major character in the anime/manga series Oh My Goddess! created by Kosuke Fujishima. System administrator of Yggdrasil, the computer which mantains reality, she abandons her job and travels to Earth so she can try to get Belldandy and Keiichi more intimate with each other. Urd in OMG is half-goddess, half-demoness; she (unlike her former friend, Mara) chose her good side and thus became a goddess in total. Being half-demoness, Urd is rather wild; in addition to being the goddess of the past, Urd has appointed herself as goddess of love, though she is not particularly good at that job. Urd's angel, World of Elegance, reflects her personal duality, having one white wing and one black wing (half of her hair is white and half is black, also). Urd is a Goddess Second Class, Limited License, like her little sister Skuld. However, while Skuld's license is limited because of her age, Urd's is limited because of her lack of fine control: she is a true believer in the massive-overkill school of problem solving. She is weak against Enka music which will make her go to sleep in an instant. This weakness is most probably due to her origin as a half-demoness, just like how the demoness Mara is weak against rock / disco music. Urd recharges her energy by drinking a lot of sake and is able to teleport via television screens.

Unlike her mythological predecessor, Urd is beautiful and decidedly sexual, with a voluptuous figure, dark skin, green eyes and platinum blonde hair. She wears very revealing clothes, with elaborate necklaces and many bracelets.
