Up2date
|
up2date is a tool used by Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora Core that downloads and installs new software and upgrades to the operating system. The file /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources determines where package files come from.
By default, Red Hat Enterprise Linux's up2date sources packages from a Red Hat Network server, though users can add directories full of packages or even apt and yum repositories if they wish.
By default, Fedora Core's up2date sources packages from yum repositories. Again, other sources can be added (apart from RHN, which is Red Hat Enterprise Linux Specific). Template:Linux-stub
