This album was released in May 2004 and became PJ Harvey's highest-charting record on the US Billboard charts, reaching No. 29 (it reached No. 12 in her native UK). For the first time since 1993's 4-Track Demos, Harvey produced it herself and played every instrument, bar the drums which were handled by her longtime collaborator Rob Ellis.
