USS New Mexico

Two ships of the United States Navy have borne the name USS New Mexico, named in honor of the state of New Mexico.
- The first New Mexico, (BB-40), was the lead ship of her class of battleships, commissioned in 1918 and struck in 1947.
- The second New Mexico, (SSN-779), is a Virginia-class submarine. As of 2004, construction is scheduled to begin in 2006.
