Todd Akin

W. Todd Akin (born July 5 1947), American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2001, representing the Second Congressional District of Missouri (map (http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/preview/congdist/mo02_109.gif)).
Born in New York City, he attended the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and served in the U.S. Army Combat Engineers. Akin was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 1988 to 2000, when he was elected to the House. He is currently a member of the Armed Services Committee, Science Committee, and Small Business Committee.
