Thrashcore

Thrashcore, or thrash, is a combination of thrash metal and hardcore punk music.
This definition is at odds with an earlier definition of thrash metal as form of heavy metal music that incorporated elements of hardcore punk, notably the latter's emphasis on extreme speed.
Thrashcore saw its beginnings after the decline of punk rock in the early 1980s. Hardcore punk began to take off in centres like Washington, D.C. and California. Early thrash bands, such as Minor Threat played faster hardcore punk and they distinguished themselves from other hardcore punk bands such as Black Flag. Early thrash distinguished itself from hardcore punk for drawing elements of thrash metal, mostly the speed, and combining it with the rawness of hardcore punk.
Thrashcore as a genre ties in heavily to hardcore, grindcore, powerviolence, crust, and other subgenres of punk rock.
625 Thrashcore, Havoc, Hardcore Holocaust, Ebullition, Crimes Against Humanity, Slap-a-Ham and other labels have been known to put out Thrashcore records.
