The Trenches is a Half-Life mod centered on World War I. The public beta was released in October 2004. The first beta includes the United Kingdom and Imperial Germany and two player classes, a rifleman, who carries a Lee-Enfield rifle if on the British side, or a Gewehr 98 if on the German side, and a grenadier, who carries four grenades and a trench club. Later releases are planned to expand upon this and include other powers such as the United States, Austria-Hungary, and France, and more player classes with a greater variety of weapons.
