The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology is the title of a book by Raymond Kurzweil concerning his belief about a coming technological singularity. It is set for release on September 22, 2005. Its publisher is Viking Books (ISBN 0670033847).
In March of 2005, Kurzweil announced a promotional collaboration (http://www.singinst.org/kurzweil.html) with the Singularity Institute for Artificial Intelligence through which donors can receive signed copies of the book at least one month before the release date.
