Terry Goodkind is an American fantasy writer, author of the Sword of Truth series. Currently the following books have been released:

- Soul of the Fire (1999)
- Faith of the Fallen (2000)
- The Pillars of Creation (2001)

The 2001 Legends anthology, edited by Robert Silverberg, features a short story, "Debt of Bones," set a few decades before the events in the main series. Later the same year, it was published as a stand-alone novella.
Goodkind was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where he also attended schooling in art. Goodkind has enjoyed several careers including wildlife art, cabinet making, violin making, and the restoration of rare and exotic antiques. In 1983 Goodkind moved to an undisclosed location. There, in the woods near the ocean, he built the house where he and his wife, Jeri, live. It is there that he weaves his own stories, and has since gained wide following amoung fantasy readers.
