Teagasc

Teagasc (meaning teaching in Irish) is the semi-state authority in Ireland responsible for research and development, training and advisory services in the agri-food sector. The authority has a number of county advisory centers, colleges and research centers in which it carries out its main business.
The official title of the body is "Teagasc - The Agriculture and Food Development Authority" and is the successor to ACOTT (Irish: An Chomhairle Oiliúna Talmhaíochta) which had a similar remitt until 1988.
