Talk:Puck (moon)

Is it named specifically after Puck (mythology) or Puck (Shakespeare)? -- Tarquin
- Puck of mythology and Puck of Shakespeare are the same, "an evil, or malicious spirit or demon" says the OED. According to Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, Shakes toned him down a bit, but didn't demythologize him. In Midsummer Night's Dream he is described as "rough, knurly limbed, faun-faced, and shock-pated, a very Shetlander among the gossamer-winged fairies" Ortolan88
Whichever, I thought it might be nice to mention that in this article. -- Tarquin
In the table wrriten "Divcovered in: 1985" and in the article "It was discovered by Voyager 2 in 1986".
- It was definitely Shakespeare because all the moons of Uranus are named after characters in Shakespeare or Pope. The Singing Badger 22:30, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
