Talk:List of Estonian rulers
|
Your list is incomplete. Note that there were two Estonian ruling bishops enfeoffed as princes of Holy Roman Empire during Middle Ages: Bishops of Dorpat (now in Estonian Tartu, in contemporary Latin, Episcopus Tarbatensis) from November 6, 1225 - Jult 18, 1558, when Dorpat was conqueder by Russians); Bishops of Oesel (or Oesel-Wiek, now in Estonian Saaremaa ja Läänemaa, in contemporary Latin, Episcopus Osiliensis) from October 1, 1228 - 1560, until the last bishop ceded his realm to Denmark. Bishops had sovereignity in their realms over the Livonian Order, which was technically a vassal institution of bishops. Peter Frisk
