Tae Bo

Tae Bo is an exercise routine invented by seven-time world karate champion Billy Blanks. Bill Blanks, born in Erie, Pennsylvania, has trained in Tae Kwon Do and Karate. In 1989 Blanks combined music with a training exercise routine to develop an intensive workout routine. Millions of Tae Bo videos have been sold, and Tae Bo classes are taught worldwide.
TAE BO is an acronym for Total Awarness Excellence Body Obedience. Tae Bo includes much of the same punches and kicks as Karate does, but is not intended for fighting. Tae Bo is more for exercise for health than any self-defense applications. There are no throws, grappling moves, or ground fighting techniques in Tae Bo. Its only intent is to increase health through movement.
The high-intensity workout has been shown to increase cardio fitness, strength, muscular endurance and flexibility. Working all of their major muscles, participants of Tae Bo are challenged physically and mentally and are left feeling stronger and more energized.
Tae Bo throws aerboic excersizes in the mix as well, strengthening all muscles of the body with pretty easy choreography. The exercises led by Billy Banks are 55 minutes long.
