Syrup (novel)
|
Syrup is a satirical comedy of marketing and consumerism written by Max Barry. Published in 1999, it is Barry's debut novel.
A young marketing graduate named Scat comes up with an idea for Coca-Cola called Fukk, and this propels him into a world of backstabbing, ladder-climbing marketers including his roomate Sneaky Pete and 6, a beautiful and intelligent executive at Coca-Cola who claims to be a lesbian; Scat refuses to believe this and falls in love with her.
Note
Syrup was not published in the United Kingdom, so Jennifer Government, Barry's second novel, is considered his debut novel there.
