Sylvester Shyster is a character created by Floyd Gottfredson for the Mickey Mouse Comic Strips. Shyster is an evil lawyer who teams up with Black Pete.

He first appeared in the comic strip adventure "Mickey Mouse in Death Valley", the first real Mickey Mouse continuity, which was partially written by Walt Disney. Therefore, he is the only exclusive to comic strip character created by Disney himself!

Whenever Shyster appears along with Pete, we always know that he's the one in charge, and is probably the only person Pete will listen to without rebellion.

He and Pete have been causing trouble for Mickey and his friends since then. Shyster disappeared after 1934, and made a comeback in 1942. Since then, he has never appeared in new stories until Egmont Creative A/S (in Denmark) revived him as a Mickey Mouse villain.

It should be noted that in "Race to the South Seas" (March of Comics 41, 1949), a Donald Duck story by Carl Barks, he appeared as Scrooge McDuck's lawyer, but his appearance differed from that in the Mickey Mouse strip and he was not an evil villain in that story.
