Sylvano Bussoti (born in October 1, 1931 in Florence) is a famously hard-to-perform composer. Examples of his use of graphic notation in his pieces, often reflecting his personal life, include Lorenzaccio and La passion selon Sade. A child prodigy he entered Florence Conservatory at 9, wherein he developed an opposition to modernism. He was famously a homosexual and partook in other academic disciplines including painting, graphic art, and journalism.
