Surrey Senior League
|
The Surrey Senior League was a regional football league in Surrey, England and environs that in 2003 merged into the Combined Counties League as its First Division. The teams are on the ninth tier of the English football league system.
The CCL had initially seceded from the SSL in the 1970s, the original SSL having been formed in 1922. There is still a Surrey County Senior League at the next layer down the pyramid. It should be noted that neither the pre-2003 SSL teams nor the SCSL teams are eligible for the Surrey Senior Cup, a competition organized by the Surrey County Football Association that is usually won by a Football Conference, Football League or Isthmian League team.
