Sun Language Theory
|
The Sun Language Theory is a linguistic theory proposing that all human languages are descendents of one Central Asian primal language. The theory further proposed that the only language remaining more or less the same as this primal language is modern day Turkish.
The theory was already generally disreputed by the time it was introduced into Turkish politics and education by Kemal Mustafa Ataturk in 1935 at the high point of attempts to 'clean' the Turkish language from foreign influence. It fell into final disregard in the 1950s.
