Steve Chabot

Steve Chabot (born January 22, 1953) is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Ohio, representing that state's first congressional district (map (http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/preview/congdist/oh01_109.gif)), in the Cincinnati area.
Chabot, a Catholic, was born in Cincinnati and graduated from LaSalle High School there. He received a bachelor of arts degree from the College of William and Mary(Williamsburg, Va.) in 1975 and a law degree from Northern Kentucky University's Salmon P. Chase College of Law (Highland Heights, Ky.) in 1978. He worked as a school teacher (1975-76), was a member of the Cincinnati city council (1985-90), and the Hamilton County, Ohio, commission (1990-94).
Chabot was first elected to the House in 1994 and began serving in 1995 (104th Congress). Chabot is a member of the international relations, judiciary, and small business committees.
