Star note
|
A Star Note is a American bank note which has a star (*) symbol before or after the serial number. Notes with an error are usually caught by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and is then destroyed and replaced by a duplicate note with a star after the serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. Old Star Notes are highly desirable by note collectors.
