St Patrick's Isle is a small island in the Irish Sea, and features a prominent castle, now currently joined to the mainland by a causeway. The Castle's most famous "resident" is the so called Moddey Doo or Black Dog ghost.
Peel, although it was never capital of the country, is the only city on the Isle of Man having been the seat of the bishop of Sodor and Man.
It is known as Ellan Noo Perick or Ynnys Pherick in Manx. The castle/island gives rise to both the town's names, aka Peel and Purt ny hinshey (Port of the island).
