St Mary's Isle (Conister Rocks or Tower of Refuge)
|
St Mary's Isle (Conister Rocks or Tower of Refuge) is a reef marker on the Isle of Man.
It is an islet situated just off Douglas and was partly the inspiration for the foundation of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The refuge is in fact a folly, designed to look like a castle. It is not far from the current ferry terminal.
