St. Julian's
|
St. Julian's is a town in Malta along the coast north of Valletta, known for tourism oriented businesses such as hotels, bars and nightclubs, centred mostly in an area known as Paċeville.
St. Julian's is also the hometown of all three members of the band Beangrowers which has achieved popularity outside of Malta.
St. Julian, the town's patron Saint, was a noble man who liked to hunt, and one day he killed a deer, and had a vision in which the deer told him that he will kill his parents, so he went away to another village and married a pious woman. He came home one evening to find his wife in bed with another man, and killed them both, only to find out that they were his parents who accepted and invitation from his wife. He repented, sold all of his possesions and retired to country, where he built an Inn where he helped pilgrims, one day a leper stoped at the inn and Julian and his wife treated him like any other pilgrim, so the leper transformed into an angel and told him that his sins were forgiven.
