Speedcore
|
Speedcore is a form of hardcore techno that is typically identified by the high rate of beats per minute, usually starting around 300+ BPM and working upwards (1000 BPM). This type of music, compared to other hardcore genres like gabba, becomes physically undanceable, which puts the emphasis on listening rather than physical interaction.
The sound elements used in making speedcore tracks ranges from sampled guitar riffs, audio samples of human screams or shouting, static, all of which are usually taken through distortion filters to create an overall harsh sound. This, combined with the high BPM of speedcore tracks can make for a music experience which often crosses over into noise music.
Artists of speedcore include m1dy Mister Joker God Fuck Interrupt Vector.
The term Extratone refers to a faster type of speedcore music 1000+ Beats per minute.
