The Military of Hong Kong consists of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison of the People's Republic of China's People's Liberation Army and under command of the Guangzhou Military Region and the Central Military Commission.
Before Hong Kong returned to China, defence of the territory was carried out by the British Forces Overseas Hong Kong.
