John Fowles

John Fowles was born March 31, 1926 in Leigh-on-Sea, a small town in Essex, near London. He attended Bedford School and Oxford University, where he studied French. He then taught in France and Greece before becoming a full time novelist. He has also written The Aristos, a collection of aphorisms. He now lives in Lyme Regis, Dorset.
