Sleeper

"Sleeper" has a number of different meanings, usually connected to sleep in varying degrees of literalness:
- Sleeper is a Woody Allen movie.
- Sleeper were a Britpop band in the 1990s.
- In espionage, a sleeper is a secret agent left long inactive.
- In rail transport, a name for both the sleeping car and the bars (of timber, concrete or steel) supporting the rail tracks (called railroad ties in North America).
- In road transport, a truck with a sleeping compartment.
- A type of couch, also known as a fold-out couch or hide-a-bed.
- A sleeper or sleeper hit is something, such as a movie (sleeper film), book, or product, that obtains unexpected recognition or success.
- In biology, a sleeper is a perciform fish of the family Eleotridae.
- In business, synonym for sleeping partner.
- Truncation of blanket sleeper.
- In construction and shipbuilding, a strong internal beam.
- A Sleeper is an automobile that has any manner of modified engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes or other parts, with the goal of improving its original performance, while still maintaining the outward appearance of a stock, factory equipped vehicle. The British term for this is a Q-car
- Sleeper is a comic book published by DC Comics.
- A small hoop earring typically worn at night to keep the hole in a pierced ear open.
- In the Captain America comics, a nazi giant robot that was installed by the Red Skull in Germany to sleep for twenty years and then destroy the world. Four of them existed, three to be combined, the latter on its own.
- A Yo-yo trick, "the sleeper"
