Slash's Snakepit
|
Slash's Snakepit was a side-project formed by Slash in 1994 with former Guns N' Roses members Slash on lead guitars, Matt Sorum on drums, Gilby Clarke on rhythm guitars and Dizzy Reed on keyboards. Also in the band were Mike Inez on bass and Eric Dover doing lead vocals. Teddy Andreadis also appears on harmonica. The first album was It's Five O'Clock Somewhere with 70 minutes and issued in March 1995. The group soon disbanded, but was reformed a few years later with completely new lineup. The band released Ain't Life Grand in October 2000, which, aside from Slash on lead guitar, featured Rod Jackson on vocals, Johnny Griparic on bass, Matt Laug on drums and Ryan Roxie on guitar. After a tour supporting the album, Slash again disbanded Snakepit, feeling he was "carrying everybody (in Snakepit) through that". Slash has recently announced that he will not be reforming Snakepit unless Velvet Revolver disband.
