Six Flags Darien Lake
|
Six Flags Darien Lake is a Six Flags theme park located between Buffalo and Rochester in Darien Lake, off the thruway (I-90).
The park first opened under the Six Flags name in May, 1999, though it had operated as "Darien Lake" for many years. It features rides, roller coasters, a waterpark, and attractions. One of the primere attractions is Superman: The Ride of Steel. It was originally introduced in May, 1999. The total duration is 3 minutes and 20 seconds. The track is over one mile long and reaches speeds of 73 mph. Also included is Mind Eraser, which is the only suspended looping coaster in the state of New York. The Predator is also a premiere ride, the tallest wooden coaster in the state, that reaches speeds of over fifty mph, though it has been somewhat eclipsed by the more recent coasters. The waterpark has a wavepool and five water slides. The park has daily shows and occasional concerts.
