Shelley Capito

Shelley Moore Capito (born November 26, 1953) is an American politician. She has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2000, representing the Second Congressional District of West Virginia (map (http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/preview/congdist/wv02_109.gif)).
A resident of Charleston, West Virginia, Capito is the daughter of Arch A. Moore, Jr., who represented the First Congressional District of West Virginia and twice served as that state's Governor (1969-1977; 1985-1989). Shelly Moore Capito was educated at Duke University and at the University of Virginia. In the House, she is Chairwoman of the Congressional Woman's Caucus. She has been frequently mentioned as a possible challenger to Sen. Robert C. Byrd in 2006, but has yet to reveal her future political ambitions.
