Series

In a general sense, a series is a related set of things that occur one after the other (in a succession) or are otherwise connected one after the other (in a sequence). The specific meaning depends on the context.
Sciences
- Mathematical series – A mathematics topic over the sum of a sequence of terms.
- Botanical series – Named selections of plants and flowers in botany.
- Series connection – a topic in electronics and electrical engineering; the electrical series circuit is a basic ways of wiring components.
- Seriation is a method of dating objects in the field of archaeology.
Entertainment
- Television series is a program which is part of a periodically returning television program or a single year (season) of episodes. Animated series is aproduced by means of animation.
- Book series is a group of novels that may share a common setting, story arc, set of characters or timeline.
- Serialism is a rigorous system of writing music in which various elements of the piece are ordered according to a pre-determined ordered set or sets, and variations on them.
- Video game series (Such as The Elder Scrolls or Metal Gear) consist of long running computer game as well as characters that have been portrayed in many games.
Other
- On U.S. currency, the Series refers to the year appearing on the front of a bill, indicating when the bill's design was adopted.
