Sergiyev Posad (Template:Lang-ru) is a Russian town in Moscow Oblast, where the greatest of Russian monasteries, the Trinity, is situated. The town grew up around the monastery and was incorporated in 1742. As its name had strong religious connotations, it was changed to Zagorsk in 1930. The original name, literally meaning "Sergii's settlement" and alluding to St Sergii Radonezhsky, was restored in 1991. According to the 2002 census, the town's population is 113,581.
