Seekipedia
|
Seekipedia is a guessing game using articles in Wikipedia. Any number can play, though a moderately large group of players (6-12) is ideal.
A player, acting as moderator, chooses a Wikipedia article and names hyperlinks appearing in the article as clues to the other players. A moderator clueing this article, for example, could use "chat room," "guessing game," "hyperlinks" and "Wikipedia" as clues. Clues are given one at a time in any order. Players offer guesses at any time trying to identify the article. The first to identify the article wins the round.
Play proceeds for an agreed-upon number of rounds with one player volunteering to be the moderator for the entire game or the role of moderator passing from player to player. Answers and clue sets may be arranged in advance, but access to Wikipedia during the game is helpful in case players would like to know the context of a hyperlink within the article after the answer has been discovered. The game is well-suited for play in a chat room.
