Satsuma-Sendai (薩摩川内市; -shi) is a city located in Kagoshima, Japan.
In 2004 the city had an estimated population of 104,102 in a total area of 683.49 km, giving a population density of 152.31 persons per km.
The city was established on October 12, 2004 when the city of Sendai, the towns of Hiwaki, Iriki, Kedoin, Togo and the villages of Sato, Kamikoshiki, Shimokoshiki, and Kashima merged to form one new city.
