Sansert
|
Sansert is a brand name for methysergide, a member of the ergoline group. Methysergide is one of the most effective medications for prevention, but not treatment, of migraine headaches. However, it has a known side-effect, retroperitoneal fibrosis [1] (http://www.emedicine.com/radio/topic605.htm), that is severe, although uncommon. Novartis appears to have withdrawn it from the U.S. market after taking over Sandoz.
