In Egyptian mythology, Saa (or Sia) was the goddess of the intellect, mind, understanding and conscious thought. She was also invoked to protect the heart and genitals of the dead. She was born from the blood produced when Ra severed his penis. Sia represents knowledge, while her twin, Hu, represents the divine utterance and command. They are part of the crew of Ra's sun boat; Sia stands at the prow (except at night, when Upuaut rests there) with Hu right behind him. Sia is shown holding a papyrus.ca:SaaTemplate:Myth-stub
