Roy Blunt

Roy D. Blunt (born January 10, 1950) is a Republican Representative to the United States House of Representatives from the 7th Congressional District of Missouri (map (http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/preview/congdist/mo07_109.gif)), and the current House Majority Whip.
Blunt is currently serving his fourth two-year term in the House. He was originally elected in 1996. In 2002, he was reelected to the House with 74% of the vote against token opposition.
Before being elected to Congress, Blunt earned a B.A. in History from Southwest Baptist University, and later served as the university's president. Blunt also earned a M.A. in History from Southwest Missouri State University.
Congressman Blunt serves on the U.S. House Committee on International Relations.
On October 18, 2003, he married lobbyist Abigail Perlman. Blunt has three children from a prior marriage. On 2 November 2004, his son Matt Blunt (also a Republican) was elected Governor of Missouri. His two other children, Amy Blunt Mosby and Andrew Blunt, are lawyers, his son Andrew is also a lobbyist. He has three grandchildren, Davis Mosby, Ben Blunt, and William Branch Blunt.
