As of 2005, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit covers the City of Detroit as well as Lapeer, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, and Wayne counties, Michigan.
The Diocese of Detroit, erected on March 8, 1833, was elevated to Archdiocese on May 22, 1937.
