Robert Howe

Robert Howe (1732-1785) was a Major General in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was born in Brunswick County, North Carolina and served in the North Carolina militia and the colonial assembly from 1768 to 1775. He served for a time as the commnader of the Southrn Department of the Conttinental Army. He led a invasion of British Florida in 1777, and was forced to abandon Savannah, Georgia after its failure.
