River Cole, West Midlands
|
The River Cole is a short river in the English Midlands. It rises between Wythall, Weatheroak, Inkford, and Portway, South of Birmingham, through which it flows, before joining the Tame, of which it is a tributary. It is 27 miles long.
The Cole drives Sarehole Mill, now a museum, which was one of the inspirations for J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
